Steve Brown, comedy musician. I remember him from In One Ear and Alan Partridge.

See you in court.

Porn Legend

RIP Wrighty best mainstream DJ of the lot imo, always listenable, entertaining and on the ball. Would always turn over to him in the afternoon. Another one gone quite young continuing a worrying trend. Keep on jockin no G.

In the '90s I stood next to Steve in a pie & mash shop.

He was better than Putin (Who isn't?) but he was still a racist and believed that Crimea belonged to Russia, and other such nonsense.

Ewen Macintosh RIP
Big Keith' from The Office.

John Savident aged 86. I say John Savident.

Fred Elliott in Corrie. Also in Yes Minister and/or Prime Minister.

RIP too He was the best Ali G impersonator, ever. He was also fab in Lead Balloon as the bloke Rick buys a Dualit toaster off of (the one that Michael the cafe owner thinks is a gift and accepts in lieu of stolen tea spoons ...) The story in The Daily Mail (sorry!) said that he'd been in care home for a while, so he was clearly fairly ill for the last couple of years. He's only two or so years older than me, so very much a contemporary.

I hadn't seen that one - what a shame. What an actor he was too. He was also the King in the original unbroadcast Blackadder pilot. I used to love watching Corrie back in the day, well, before it got all silly and Dev had about thirty children by various employees throughout his sweet shop empire. Jumbo from Yes, Minister was fantastic in the sleeper train scene. I have the Yes, Minister/Yes, Prime Minister DVD box sets too, so I'll give it a watch.

His death was incredibly sad, especially as he was only in his late sixties (my late husband was sixty-three, so a similar generation). I didn't listen to any of his shows prior his short stint as host of Radio 2's "Pick of the Pops" which he recently took over from Gambo. He did make the show his own in a very short space of time.

Derek Draper - Kate Garraway's husband.
I didn't even know he was ill, she never mentioned it.

No, she was very quiet about it all really. Understated and taciturn, stoic even. It's sad but my word, the poor guy!

Lady Diana. Wasn't publicised much.

Really? My word, I didn't know that. RIP our late Queen of Hearts. I do hope that a whole host of books written by various authors with varying memories of her aren't published following her tragic demise, it'd be terrible if that was ever allowed to happen.

See you in court.

I loved Glenn Ponder and the way in which he and his band defied Partridge in KMKYWAP. Mr B was also the musical director for so many comedies and if my aspie brain serves me right, he was involved in Harry Hill's less than great X factor musical? Wasn't Steve Brown once married to Jan Ravens and their son is a stand-up? I recall my then-choir director, a musically-based stand-up herself, moaning about nepotism.

Tich (Ian Amey), aged 79. Just leaves Beaky and Mick now, Dave Dee & Dozy having already departed to Xanadu.

With or without the late Olivia Newton-John?

Different Xanadu. This one was legendary.

Ah yes, but both excellent examples of their particular oevre as I'm sure that you'll agree?

RIP to Stan Bowles. One of the most talented and down to earth blokes ever to play for the mighty QPR and England. 😞
