There Was A Crooked Man is about to become the first ever Norman Wisdom film to be released in HD, on a new Blu-ray from Network Distributing.

Following an initial DVD release last year, the comedy sees Wisdom removed from his better-known 'Gump' Norman role from hit Rank comedies like The Early Bird and Up In The World, and will be available to buy from Monday 30th April 2018.

One of only two starring films he made independently of the British studio, in 1960's There Was A Crooked Man he plays Davy Cooper, a naive explosives expert, down-on-his-luck and unemployed since leaving the military. Bumping into an old service buddy, he is soon unwittingly forced into a criminal gang - and is eventually caught whilst assisting them to break into a bank vault.

Peacefully serving his time and moving to begin life afresh beside the sea, Davy is settling into his new existence when he uncovers a duplicitous plot by a major local politician and businessman to rob the entire population of their life savings. It is time, he resolves, to call his old criminal buddies back into action and halt a far greater evil from being done!

Including an image gallery and PDF data files of original promotional materials for the film, the new release sees the feature restored in stunning HD quality, and has a bonus booklet by Norman Wisdom expert Richard Dacre.
