Doctor Simon Sparrow leaves St. Swithin's to go into practice with Dr. Hackett in the country. This proves not to his taste and after returning to London finds himself in a wealthy Park Lane practice, dispensing to wealthy patients. A series of misunderstandings result in Sparrow returning to St. Swithin's and gaining Sir Lancelot's support to become a surgeon.
