Sky1 has announced it has struck a long-term deal with the producers of sport-based panel show A League Of Their Own.

The new three year deal will see James Corden's show on air until at least 2017. The network has already filmed the next series, and now it has ordered 30 more episodes to be spread across a further three series for 2015, 2016 and 2017.

A League Of Their Own, which also features regular panellists Jamie Redknapp, Andrew Flintoff and Jack Whitehall, has so far run for seven series, all of which have scored high audience ratings for the subscription broadcaster.

Sky says: "Now in its eighth series, Sky 1's high energy supersized panel show, A League Of Their Own, is firmly established amongst the elite with its unique blend of sports, comedy and entertainment. The show that invented the 'Mobot', 'tattooed' One Direction's Niall Horan, and introduced Olympic skeleton champion Amy Williams to the world of rally co-driving, will return for a further three series following the deal signed with CPL Productions."

The new Series 8, which will see Corden and all the regular panellists return, will be broadcast this summer; with Series 9 slated for 2015, Series 10 for 2016, and Series 11 for 2017. Each series will run for 8 hour-long episodes, with two additional 'Unseen' specials.

Sky's Adam MacDonald says: "A League Of Their Own's energetic blend of sport and big hearty laughter has grown to become one of Sky1's strongest returning series. Its popularity with Sky customers is a thing to treasure and I'm delighted we have agreed a three year deal to continue that success story."

Murray Boland, from CPL Productions, adds: "It's great to be returning with a further three series of A League Of Their Own - the last series was our most successful ever and it just keeps getting better and better."
