Wendy is pregnant and extremely excited at the prospect of becoming a mother at last. Robin is panicking and trying to cram in all those things he wished he'd done before having a baby, like buy a motorbike! Their next door neighbours, manic depressive Derek, and his bored younger wife, Maureen, are as ever being supportive, in their own special way.

Wendy is pregnant but Robin is getting cold feet. Robin decides he needs a motorbike and buys a huge machine that he has no licence to drive. Maureen has taken up body building and takes a hormone supplement that turns her into a sex maniac and Derek is looking forward to the birth and is studying baby catalogues. Derek takes Robin out on the motorbike and Maureen takes Wendy to the hospital.
