The IT Crowd trivia

During the credits of Series 2 Episode 6, a near-naked picture of Douglas (Matt Berry) is flashed on the screen for a split second.

The start-up sequence and subsequent menus on the DVD are designed to resemble a ZX Spectrum.

The props on the sets and costumes worn by the characters include many 'geeky' computer references.

Roy's t-shirts are a particular focus for IT references. His t-shirts have in the past included designs featuring things like a 'RTFM' slogan, a level of Pac-Man, and the number 42 (which is a reference to The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy).

Writer/Director Graham Linehan has made a cameo appearance in two episodes: Series 1 Episode 3 as a Mariachi singer; and Series 2 Episode 6 as a blind Irish sorcerer.

Producer Ash Atalla briefly appears in Series 2 Episode 1 as a 'rampant gay'.

This sitcom was originally going to have been about some travel agents. However Graham Linehan decided he couldn't think of many travel based jokes and changed the premise to be about technology.

In Series 3 Episode 4, Roy can be seen looking at Graham Linehan's blog, Why That's Delightful.

Jo Joyner and Sarah Hadland both auditioned for the role of Jen.
