The routine of the Greenberg family is shattered by a letter from one of Fay's old boyfriends. Dennis Baxter was friendly with Fay 40 years ago, and now he hears that she's a widow and eligible for "reconsideration". But what he hasn't reconsidered, or even considered, is Fay's little boy, Reuben.
