Romesh Ranganathan is piloting a new TV comedy entertainment show.

Much like The Ranganation, the BBC Two format he hosts that has just finished its fifth series, the new programme will also feature his mum, Shanthi Ranganathan.

Talking about The Romesh Ranganathan Show, producers say: "We'll have a star-studded line-up of celebrity guests, hilarious games and amazing music performances. Also accompanying Romesh is his straight talking mum Shanthi to keep him in check! You won't want to miss it..."

A pilot episode is due to be recorded at The Tabernacle in Notting Hill on Tuesday 6th December (free tickets).

It is not currently known which channel the format is aimed at, but the star has particularly strong relationships with BBC Two and Sky Max. Further details are expected to be revealed in due course.

Romesh remains one of the busiest comedians on TV. Aside from his regular presenting jobs and guest appearances, a football special of Rob And Romesh Vs airs tonight and his new stand-up special Romesh Ranganathan: The Cynic arrives on Netflix at the end of the month.
