Love Soup - Series 1

Could it be true that there is a perfect someone out there for everyone? If so, where are they? Who are they dating? And would you ever recognise them, even if they had "hello, I'm your soulmate" tattooed on their forehead? Take Love Soup's Alice and Gil, ideally-suited but both missing something - each other...

Alice and Gil would make a perfect couple - if only they could meet. Alice is a manager of a perfume company in a London department store, struggling to maintain a flat in Brighton she cannot afford. Gil is a successful American comedy writer who has fled his home country in search of artistic integrity and a lasting relationship. Both neurotic, thoughtful and possessing a wickedly dry sense of humour, they would be great for each other. But, for all they know, they could be living on different planets.

Gil's busy avoiding the advances of an older neighbour, Alice is doing her best to ignore the matchmaking of her perfume-counter colleagues... and their dates lurch from disaster to disaster. It seems they are never destined to find each other - if Cupid is going to bring them together he's going a funny way about it.
