Parents' evening brings Helen a tidal wave of nerves, but she's more alarmed than relieved to learn that Chloe's a bit of a goody-two-shoes. Meanwhile, Mr Gould appears intent on talking Miss Hunter into retirement. She has no intention of leaving, but can he wear her down?

Further details

It's been a turbulent and testing term for the Pearsons and, before they bid farewell, they welcome us to their new life 'on the edge'.

It's that dreaded school event: parents' evening. Helen's nerves are shot because she's afraid of receiving a clobbering from Miss Hunter, but she gets something much worse. It turns out Chloe is a bit of a goody-two-shoes and, although that should be a relief to Helen, it actually raises alarm.

She didn't bring up her daughter to conform so, now, anything goes. However, Chloe isn't lured to the wild side; not by the offer of pizza for breakfast and the sight of her dad rapping, anyway.

Sarah, meanwhile, could use a lesson in boundaries as she tries to worm her way into Mark's arms. He accidentally becomes her confidant and has a lot of explaining to do when she turns up at the family house unannounced and spends the night.

Back at school, Mr Gould is not-so-subtly trying to get shot of Miss Hunter. She has no intention of retiring but could his relentless pestering grind her down? The head teacher makes little headway elsewhere when an unlikely ringleader gets a band of pupils together for a protest.
