Billy Connolly's Funniest Moments is a celebration of some of the best comedy from one of the greatest comedians of the last 50 years.

Sir Billy Connolly started out as a folk singer and soon made his name as one of the funniest comedians of his generation, loved around the world for his tall tales, outrageous observations and side-splitting shaggy dog stories.

Also known as the Big Yin, Billy grew up in the tough working-class environment of post-war Glasgow during the 1950s and 60s. Fortunately, for those of us who love to laugh, his comedy is seriously funny.

For half a century, this 'Scot of the Anarchic' has flown the flag for uttering the unspeakable and talking taboo, by entertaining audiences with his unique exploration of universal subjects that some might find too embarrassing to talk about or only whisper in private.

Billy Connolly's Funniest Moments includes popular stand-up routines from some of his most critically acclaimed live shows and TV recordings in London and New York, a wealth of hilarious jokes and stories as seen for the first time on some of the most successful talk shows, and a selection of rarely seen archive clips from Billy's unique performances. These include Billy's headlining act at the 1984 alternative comedy festival 'Weekend in Wallop', his appearance on An Evening With Billy Connolly for Australia's Channel 9, and Billy's notoriously awkward interview with Led Zeppelin's monosyllabic drummer John Bonham on 1980s youth TV show Alright Now.

To accompany the collection of funniest moments, the producers have gathered some of their favourite comedians and self-proclaimed Billy Connolly fans to celebrate his work, including Shaparak Khorsandi, Shazia Mirza, Suzi Ruffell, Chris McCausland, Dave Gorman, Richard Herring, Richard Digance, Seann Walsh and comedy legend Jimmy Tarbuck.
