With the resistance running low on funds, Michelle orders René to tunnel into Herr Flick's headquarters and steal the Fallen Madonna from his safe. Meanwhile, the newspaper is looking to crown a local woman the 'Spirit of Nouvion'.

7. Leg It To Spain!

As René prepares to escape to Spain with the painting for the rest of the war, the Colonel arrives at the café and seizes the artwork. Meanwhile, Flick and Helga's relationship is up-and-down, and the Germans are determined to achieve a suitable group photo for the paper.


8. Prior Engagements

First broadcast: Saturday 2nd March 1991

Following Madamme Edith's crowning as the Spirit of Nouvion, the General decides that she should marry Captain Bertorelli in order to cement relations between the two sides. A celebration at the chateaux offers Michelle the perfect chance to release the British airmen.


9. Soup And Sausage

First broadcast: Saturday 9th March 1991

The airmen are now stuck in the sewers directly beneath the town square. It'd be quite simple to free them if only the hinges on the access grate weren't rusted solid. As usual, there's a crackpot plan in place - this time involving an ancient ice cream van.
