Maureen Lipman surprises and shocks with this bittersweet series of comedy dramas. In About Face the actress creates new characters including Mrs Thatcher, who she transforms from the Iron Lady to a bag lady, a loo attendant in a posh London nightclub, the long-suffering wife of a politician and a dowdy telephonist who blossoms into a passionate flamenco dancer. Lipman is supported by a strong cast of guest stars including Michael Gambon and John Wells.
