  • Ed quips: "Eating is my one true love (apologies, wife)"

Ed Gamble will publish his debut memoir this October, Glutton.

He says: "Somehow I have found time in between meals to write a book about food. Eating is my one true love (apologies, wife) and I'm very excited that I get to share that passion with you, the money spending general public."

Subtitled The Multi-Course Life Of A Very Greedy Boy, it is available to pre-order now in hardback, audiobook and eBook formats

Publishers Transworld say: "Ed Gamble is one of the biggest stars on the UK comedy scene. Co-creator with James Acaster of the smash-hit Off Menu podcast, which has been downloaded over 131 million times, he is a panel show regular, Taskmaster champion, and part-time Pointless host. His latest tour, Electric, has been twice extended due to overwhelming demand.

"In Glutton, Gamble explores his life-long passion for food. With his trademark humour, he shares the standout moments from a life often guided by his insatiable appetite. From the tyranny of 'children's food' to his 'fat teenage years', to the trials of being a diabetic with a sweet tooth and his own mishaps in the kitchen, he delivers a hilarious and heart-warming memoir of a delightful obsession."

Harry Vines at Transworld says: "Glutton is a very personal celebration of the joy of food, from a potato smiley to a Michelin starred tasting menu, delivered with lashings of humour. Anyone who has enjoyed Ed's brilliant judging observations on Great British Menu or wished they could get a table at Off Menu's dream restaurant will devour this book. It will make you laugh, it might make you cry, and it will definitely make you very hungry."

Glutton is currently scheduled for publication on Thursday 26th October 2023.

Ed Gamble - Glutton: The Multi-Course Life Of A Very Greedy Boy

By Ed Gamble

The hilarious memoir from comedian, Off Menu host and Great British Menu judge, Ed Gamble.

From a young age, Ed Gamble's immaculate bibs and extremely dirty nappies hinted at his capacious appetite. Before he could walk, Ed already knew that he preferred poached salmon to puree, that celery was a calorie-sapping waste of time, and that mashed potatoes should be made with lashings of butter.

Whilst he might ordinarily have been upset by the calls of 'precocious little sh*t' coming from his family, he was too busy stuffing his gob and staging rebellions against the patronising list of misery that is a children's menu.

In Glutton, Ed shares a relatable buffet of experiences and stories from a life lived through food. From the trials of being a diabetic with a sweet tooth to his teenage battles with obesity, to the joy of cooking and the power of food to bring us together, this is a wonderful, hilarious and heart-warming memoir of a delightful obsession.
