Milo McCabe will perform as his hit character Troy Hawke in a Radio 4 comedy special due to be broadcast on New Year's Eve.

The comic will be presenting a version of his recent live show, Sigmund Troy'd.

The blurb explains: "In Sigmund Troy'd, everyone's favourite smoking-jacket wearing comic is here to let anyone with self-doubts know that everything is okay; you deserve what you have, you're entitled to what you've earnt and, most importantly, you are good enough. In his Radio 4 debut, Troy Hawke's award-winning show covers the disparity of dopamine levels, imposter syndrome and the powers of Scrabble-based numerology."

The half-hour special was recorded at Chorley Theatre at the end of November by production company Made In Manchester.

McCabe has been performing his louche character in live shows for over a decade. In recent years he has come to particular prominence via a series of "Greeters Guild" viral videos, in which McCabe politely greets members of the public in character as they do their shopping, and celebrities as they attend showbiz events.

Referring to the forthcoming special, the character of Troy Hawke notes: "Delighted to be on Radio 4, the perfect vehicle for auditory explanations of my rambunctiously physical comedy".

Troy Hawke: Sigmund Troy'd will be broadcast on Radio 4 at 7:15pm on Sunday 31st December 2023.
