Lincolnshire-born comedy actor, writer and producer, specialising in new writing and reviving comedy classics for the stage through his production company 'Hambledon Productions'.
John studied Drama and Scriptwriting at Northumbria University. In 2007, he co-founded Hambledon Productions and wrote the company's debut production "STOP!... You're Killing Me".
In 2009, John has appeared in "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" (White Bear Theatre) and wrote "Not Funny" (Royal Court Theatre). Since then he has completed a further three plays plus a series of pantomimes and radio and television pilot scripts for BBC and Channel 4.
In 2012, John was awarded placements on both the Royal Court Young Writers' Programme and the Soho Theatre's Writers' Lab.
In 2014, John received critical acclaim for his portrayal of arguably Britain's favourite comedian of all time Tommy Cooper in a new homage called "Just Like That!" The show has been touring the UK ever since, pleasing new and old fans alike.
John's directorial credits include four productions of new writing in conjunction with the Riverhead Theatre and the children's hit puppetry show "Penguinpig" (TRAUM Theatre).
Recently, John has been working with writer John Antrobus on a remake of "The Bedsitting Room" and, in 2018, played Spike Milligan in Antrobus' "The Milligan Papers".
