Stand-up Stephen Bailey and his lawyer boyfriend Rich Taylor and Benidorm star Denise Welch and her artist husband Lincoln Townley are among the famous faces participating in the six part-series, which is set to begin airing on October 1st.

Others signed up for the show's "mental, physical and emotional challenges", include Falklands veteran Simon Weston and his wife Lucy Weston, Pimlico Plumber Charlie Mullins and his singer-songwriter partner RaRa, Olympian cyclist Shanaze Reade and her event organiser partner Teddy Edwardes, plus Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas, who competes with West End star Danny Taylor.

The couples' performances will be scrutinised by relationship psychotherapist Anjula Mutanda and agony aunt Maria McErlane.

"Who doesn't like to see celebrities and their real life partners put to the test under pressure?" said Beckett. "It was an amazing experience to film, and I'll never be able to un-see Shirley Ballas get a tattoo, Denise Welch fall into a lake, or Simon Weston blindfold his wife in a maze."
