Top 10 Penguin biscuit jokes

These top 10 gags were read to London Zoo's Humboldt penguins ahead of World Penguin Day (25th April).

McVitie's say: "A snack time staple, Penguin biscuits have graced lunchboxes since their launch in 1932 - with 9 in 10 (91%) adult Brits stating that the nostalgic treat reminds them of their younger years, while almost three quarters (73%) recall reading Penguin jokes with friends.

"The research also found that nearly three quarters (73%) of those polled say they read the joke every time they eat a Penguin, with 92% saying they make them smile.

"While it's no surprise that 7 in 10 Brits agree the biscuit itself is the best part of a Penguin, a quarter (23%) of us are there for the joke!"

In addition to marking World Penguin Day, the 'comedy gig' for the Humboldt penguins celebrated the partnership between McVitie's and international conservation charity ZSL (Zoological Society of London), which has provided a fact about penguins to put on each chocolate bar wrapper, to sit alongside the joke.

Adam Woolf from McVitie's says: "Penguin biscuits, and their famous one-liner jokes, have been putting a smile on the faces of families for decades. What better way to celebrate them this World Penguin Day than with our proud partners ZSL - who are working across the world to protect animals just like Humboldt penguins."
