Scot Squad wins at Scottish BAFTAs
- Scot Squad has won the award for scripted television production at Scotland's BAFTAs
- Armando Iannucci collected two prizes for The Death Of Stalin
- Elaine C. Smith was named best TV actress for her work in Two Doors Down
The Scottish BAFTAs - officially British Academy Scotland Awards 2018 - winners were announced last night in Glasgow.
Police mock-documentary sitcom Scot Squad picked up the Television Scripted prize, against fellow BBC One programmes Shetland and Trust Me.
Meanwhile, Armando Iannucci picked up two separate awards for the acclaimed comedy film The Death Of Stalin: Writer Film/Television, and Director - Fiction.
Elaine C Smith won the Actress Television prize for Two Doors Down, whilst Alan Cumming collected the award of Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television.
Jude MacLaverty, Director of BAFTA Scotland, said: "It has been a truly incredible evening celebrating the very best of Scottish creative talent in Scotland across the film, television, and games industries. We are thrilled to celebrate the inspiring work that's being produced in Scotland, and the fact that so much Scottish talent is being recognised internationally in the screen industries. We would like to offer our warmest congratulations to all our worth winners and nominees."
Other comedy nominees were Jonathan Watson, Ella Hunt, and upcoming feature film Anna And The Apocalypse, in which Hunt stars.
