Top comedians set to perform at Reading and Leeds festivals

The Reading and Leeds festivals have booked perhaps their best ever comedy line-ups for this August bank holiday. The joint events have packed out their Alternative Stages with a long list of well known comedians.

One-liner expert Milton Jones (pictured), top US comic and Twitter star Rob Delaney, dexterous wordsmith Russell Kane and TV favourite Katherine Ryan are amongst the stand-ups who will be appearing at both festivals.

Sara Pascoe, Reginald D Hunter, Andrew Maxwell, Seann Walsh, Holly Walsh, Daniel Sloss, Andrew O'Neill, Paul McCaffrey, Matt Richardson and Joel Dommett are amongst the other notable names who will be gracing both stages when the events take place at the end of August.

Other acts festival-goers should look out for include Luisa Omielan, whose Thigh gap? routine has now been viewed more than 10 million times on Facebook; Alex Edelman, who was named Best Newcomer at last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival; and Dane Baptiste, an up-and-coming comic who is the star of SunnyD, one of the BBC's new Comedy Feeds pilots.

Improv rappers Abandoman and the permanently shouty Nick Helm will also be on hand to deliver some musical comedy to both events.

Those attending Leeds can also get laughs from the always funny Adam Buxton, who will be perform his BUG show there. Stephen K Amos, Mark Grist and Piff The Magic Dragon (the latter of whom is currently doing rather well on America's Got Talent right now) will also be at Leeds.

Meanwhile the Reading crowds will also be able to enjoy comedy from Tom Deacon, Tiffany Stevenson, David Morgan, Suzi Ruffell and sketch group WitTank.

Reading and Leeds 2015 takes place on 28th to 30th August 2015, the bank holiday weekend.
