Buckle Up Theatre: 10 Edinburgh Fringe questions

Journeys answers 10 questions about their 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

Buckle Up Theatre (kind of) formed in 2012 by three Mountview graduates. 2015 was when things really kicked off as we took two comedy theatre productions to the Edinburgh Fringe, Bump! and Buckle Up, and received a host of four and five star reviews. Bump! featured at the Greater Manchester Fringe and won 'Best Comedy Show' as well as being nominated for 'Best New Writing'.

We still consider ourselves an emerging company but are happy with the progress we have made in such short time.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

1. Buckle Up Theatre was originally going to be called Bucked Up Theatre but we changed it for reasons that dirty minded people pointed out to us.

2. This current group of performers have never sworn at each other.

3. Buckle Up Theatre warm up with a game called Ninja Warrior.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

A fast paced, physical comedy that romps along through a series of farcical stories. Misfortune, mishaps and mayhem through a war torn landscape.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

Use a Pokemon Go Lure on our Venue...

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

We don't plan to. Our show is exhausting so we'll burn the calories off every day anyway. Doctor Theatre!

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

The weather. We have already looked at the forecast which is set to be 8 degrees lower than London!

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

Last year we climbed Arthur's seat and we would love to do it again.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Louis CK
Ricky Gervais
Lee Evans
Aziz Ansari
Tim Vine

A nice range of different styles there...

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

That weird guy we met last year who stalked us and tried to jump on stage.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

Our show Journeys is great for anyone, families, adults, people who don't speak English. It's full of clowning and physical comedy but also tells a story with heart. It is one of a kind.

'Journeys' is at Gilded Balloon at 1:15pm until the 29th August. Listing
