Chris Boyd, northern England's foremost storm-fancier and impending doom merchant, has heard the inescapable roar of a mile-wide twister - and it's approaching fast. Born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, watching The Wizard Of Oz at a young age spurred Chris Boyd to spend "a lifetime fascinated by tornadoes abroad whilst surrounded by monotone northern weather at home". Besides such fascination, he has managed to carve out a comedy career which has seen him do very well in the BBC New Comedy Award and perform his shows Filthy, No Frills and The Best Of Boyd And Metcalfe to impressed reviewers.

He is also a short-film maker, his piece Slow Death: Part Three being selected to play in the 2014 London Short Film Festival, and a writer - contributing to The Alarmist magazine and penning a book of short stories entitled If You Like It So Much, Why Don't You Just Go Live There?.
