The hilariously inventive Royale boys are back with another masterfully-mad tale from the dusty-plains of the Australian outback. Welcome to the idyllic paradise of The Blue Lagoon Caravan Park, where the once loved Wombats have been mysteriously turning into blood-thirsty demons, ravaging the park. Only Agoraphobic Mayor Grogan and his, cricketing-legend brother Darren Grogan remain. Until a wild stranger arrives throwing the brothers into a fur filled nightmare... A late night hootenanny, packed with smokin' live music, junkyard sets and a caravan-full of twisted humour. 'Tom Waits meets the Mighty Boosh' **** (Guardian).

More details

Last year, internationally acclaimed Melbourne-based trio The Suitcase Royale took the Edinburgh Festival by storm with their smash hit The Ballad of Backbone Joe. The show was a huge critical success and heralded as one of the must-sees of last year's Edinburgh Fringe. Now the hilariously inventive Suitcase Royale are back bringing you another masterfully-mad tale from the dusty-plains of the Australian outback with the world premiere of Zomatland.

Welcome to Blue Lagoon Caravan Park, an idyllic paradise somewhere in the Australian Outback. Wombats are the main attraction, loved by all, until something goes wrong, something goes very wrong... a mysterious disease has turned the Wombats in to blood-thirsty demons. A late night party of a comedy show, packed with smokin' live music, junkyard sets and a caravan-full of The Suitcase Royale's brand of twisted humour... Welcome to Zombatland.

From the creators of the acclaimed Chronicles of a Sleepless Moon and The Ghosts of Ricketts Hill (winner of the coveted Golden Gibbo award at the 2008 Melbourne International Comedy Festival).

"This was my favourite show of the festival; I recommend the shit out of it." Daniel Kitson (on Chronicles of a Sleepless Moon)

The Suitcase Royale's shows are created using junk left on the curb-side and the carelessly placed materials of construction sites to create a unique visual landscape. Their work, encompasses theatre and music to create highly developed, multi faceted, narrative driven comedy shows.
