'Expert stand-up' (Sunday Times), 'Consistently, dependably, utterly funny' ***** (ThreeWeeks). Whether cheering up a distressed child, helping prevent a riot or genuinely saving another human's actual life, Stuart Goldsmith is excellent in a crisis. When the chips aren't down however, it's a very different story... Exhilarating stand-up about embracing anxiety, recognising what's important and getting Tasered. Chortle Breakthrough nominee 2011. LCF Best Show nominee 2011. 'Entertaining, warm, witty, not one single dull moment' (Scotsman), 'Irresistible' (Metro), 'Emotional honesty and refusal to play by the usual comedy rules' (Guardian).

A small biplane circling King Kong

Stuart Goldsmith, you might know him from ITV's Show Me The Funny, is solo again this year. No Kiosk Of Champions or Unknown Stuntmen to collaborate with... which is just the way he likes it. Or is it?

CKP, Red Comedy and Debi Allen Associates are proud to present comedian Stuart Goldsmith in his second solo Edinburgh Festival Fringe show. Following the runaway success of his debut show, The Reasonable Man, in 2010, Stuart returns this year with a show about one man's fundamental inability to function without anxiety.

Whether he's cheering up a distressed child, helping prevent a riot, or genuinely saving another human being's actual life, Stuart Goldsmith is excellent in a crisis. When the chips aren't down however, it's a very different story...

When he doesn't have to cope - he can't cope! So join Stuart as he thrives on the stress of organising illegal raves for five year-olds, becoming a plane crash obsessive and avoiding the unexpected consequences of dressing as a policeman.

An exhilarating piece of pure stand-up about embracing your anxieties, learning to fit into the world... and getting Tasered.

Stuart is an experienced comedian, compere, warm-up artist and actor. He has been performing as a stand-up for the last five years and has worked in clubs across the length and breadth of the UK. A former street-performer (Scottish National Busking Champion and placed third in the World Busking Championships 2008), he did his first street-show aged sixteen, having learned to fire-breathe, fire juggle and walk on broken glass. He can also hammer a nail into his nose, eat glass and juggle chainsaws. Punters are likely to have seen him stripping to his underwear or walking a tightrope in the street in Edinburgh.

His writing credits include Radio 2's Out To Lunch and BBC7's Play & Record and Witty & Twisted. He is also one half of the highly successful Kiosk of Champions who received critical acclaim at Edinburgh Festival 2009. The Reasonable Man was nominated for Leicester Comedy Festival - Best Show 2011.

A little bit of anxiety can ruin your life. A big fat load of panic can save it.
