Two character comediennes, both a-lacking in dignity, in fair Edinburgh where we lay our scene... A raucous gallop through the best bits of Shakespeare, daring to ask: "What if Macbeth couldn't find the daggers his wife left out for him?" and "Who had to clean up the mess of the dead after the curtain fell on poor old Hamlet?".

Those infinite monkeys may get to iambic pentameter in the end but they probably wrote this first. Kate Roxburgh and Shae Kuehlman met on a serious proper Shakespeare tour in Hollywood and soon discovered not only was the bard absolutely hilarious but that there was someone else in the world who thought so too - and thus the partnership that is The Under Dogs was born. Moving to the UK in 2011 Shakespeare's Monkeys is the sketch duo's Edinburgh Festival debut and looks set to mark them out as ones to watch for the future.
