Early Friends was very funny, subtley subversive and beautifully written.

Weird. I thought they were pretty run-of-the-mill during the first couple of seasons, and the great stuff is between the third and eighth seasons...

It's hard to narrow down esp as I haven't seen some of them in ages.

1. Seinfeld

2. Frasier/Cheers love them both so I'm saying they were part of a continuing serial.

3. Phil Silvers Show

So many other great shows though.

Seinfeld
Frasier
Malcolm In The Middle

Ill also give an honourable mention to friends, the simpsons, scrubs and family guy.

Family Guy? Scrubs? What was I on??

Top 3 now:

Seinfeld
Arrested Development

Then not sure- but a high five to Malcolm In The Middle, Friends, 30 Rock, That 70s Show and The Office.

Phil Silvers
Mash
Roseanne

Do the Simpsons count? If yes, then I'd lose Mash out of those

Yes.

30 Rock
The Office
Arrested Development

1.) Seinfeld
2.) South Park
3.) Curb Your Enthusiasm

1. The Simpsons
2. Arrested Development
3. Curb Your Enthusiasm

My top 3 favorite sitcoms that are currently in syndication are:
1) Big Bang Theory
2) 30 Rock
3) The Office

P.S. The Office this weekend was GOLD!

I just stumbled across this thread. Very difficult to keep it down to three.

The first two are easy.

1. Cheers (always preferred it to Frasier because of all of the different characters and it never had a bad season. The sort of people I'd want to spend time with).

2. Frasier (a very good sitcom but wasn't consistently funny for its run and Cheers just had more warmth for me. Frasier is clever and witty and I admire it greatly. But Cheers I love dearly.)

3. Very difficult having a third one. Bilko is genius as is Taxi, The Golden Girls, Mary Tyler Moore, Soap and Seinfeld. Okay number 3 is Bilko.

1. Seinfeld
2. Arrested Development
3. Curb Your Enthusiasm
4. Futurama
5. The Simpsons (prime)
6. Cheers

1. WKRP Cincinnati
2. Frasier
3. Dunno
