John Le Mesurier also turns up in Hi-De-Hi!.

He was Jeffrey Fairbrother's old form teacher, I think.

Dean of Cambridge University is the expression you're looking for I think.

The first of five newly animated "lost" episodes, using the audio of the original cast, on UK Gold tonight (Monday) at 8pm, continuing tomorrow 7.30.

That's just a repeat! It's airing weekly.

If these are going to be on Gold for a while I'll have to get it back at least until Xmas as I've always wanted to see the animated eps.

I've been catching the radio series eps on R4Extra when I can and they are very enjoyable. A bit looser than the TV eps with room for a slightly bodged line or two usually from Lowe and you sort of get a more relaxed weekend work feel from it and the audience track is far more noticeable at least to me. So you should get not just one but two new forms of the original episode. Why not animate them all?

There's a DVD being released on 27 November: https://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0CLF1FLDY/comedyguide-21/ Might be cheaper than subscribing to UK Gold. There are only three full length episodes and two short Christmas specials.

The first was quite curious. Enjoyable, but lots of changes from both the TV and radio versions, so not quite the faithful recreation I'd expected. We've got an interesting chat with the director coming later today that explains a bit about this.

It's a pity they have already done the lost episodes with the new cast. So they are already familiar, which otherwise they wouldn't have been.

Really worth a read, I think.
