NewsRevue again! Page 13

It was only 10. You did an ace song, where I got about one rhyme in.

And I wrote a sketch with John McCaine getting the horn from Horlix.

Hah Bandage dont'cha wish you were in our clique?

This is just like mean girls.

Cheers.

I'm in a clique of my own, sootyj. We had a boss meeting today. It was me, and, er, well, me. But I was sparkling company, and the funniest there by a country mile.

It was very social.

No. writers hate each other.

Did you get drunk book into a Travel Lodge and have a wank?

Before not calling yourself and crying?

No. writers hate each other.

We got on, so I guess we're not writers.

Albeit we did only really talk about writing.

Sounds like you had a good laugh.

I'll have to come next time. :)

Cool. :)
Have u posted your 2 sketches in Critique so that we can read them? :)

I've put the one they used for a few weeks up in Critique now.

Just read it. Good sketch. And congrats for it being repeated 3 times. :)

There you go.
Running order for this weekend's show.

Sorry about the formatting.
I copied the text straight from their spreadsheet.

How does sootyj make it neater when he pastes it in?

Why oh WHY do NewsRevue put it in a spreadsheet anyway???? :S

Congrats. :)
I couldn't think of anything to write about her.
Mind you, I've been a bit busy working on other projects lately.

And yes, ask her out if you must. ;)
She don't float my boat really.

Kudos to Griff and Mike yours got noticably big laughs and applause.

Luvverleeee. :)

I will have to take a trip up to London one weekend and see the show myself. :)

It would be soooo cool to see audience reaction to my own creations. :)

Yeah, I'll definiely do that.

Every now and then I visit London to satisy my lust of pubbing 'n' clubbing 'n' debauchery.

I'm due a alcohol/drugs/sex fest, in no particular order! :P

Maybe I'll tie it in with the next NewsRevue writer's meeting.
I assume they have such a meeting on every change of run/director/performers.
;)

Oh right.

I guess I'll see all you lot in 6 months then. :)

Was that the Edinburgh show?

Quote: Griff @ September 9 2008, 11:01 PM BST

Just been to see NewsRevue at the Royal Academy of Music. Wow, I can now say I've had my songs performed at the RAM! Anyway, the NR performers were terrific as usual and it was a fab evening.

Chatting to some of the NR crew in the bar, it seems last week was a record week for submissions, with 150 having been sent in. Wow! I sent two. I guess sootyj sent at least 50?

Last week i think I sent 8. Mainly caused by sexualised anger aimed at Sarah Palin. Still got one new and 7 over all.

Why on Earth would you send loads of sketches into the last week of a run?

Quote: Griff @ September 5 2008, 2:15 PM BST

No - NR writers meetings are traditionally every six months, although they may become more frequent. But I don't think it'll be as often as once per run.

Back in the good old days the meetings were weekly. It was a good social - and many comedy partnerships were formed because of them. It's a real shame they stopped.
