Things that cheer you up Page 7

You'll be taking some in then I presume.
Or is it just absolute virtue signaling?

It's inhumane so, I'm glad it isn't happening.
Anyway, it was never meant as a serious solution - just stirring up the pot.
They'll take on The European Court/Convention of Human Rights next because your average Tory voter will think its something to do with the EU and get all cross and red-faced about it.
Not sure what they'll say when they find out it was Churchill's idea and it'll just be us and Russia who want out.

Can we not even keep politics off the Things that cheer you up thread?

If one thing's guaranteed NOT to cheer you up...

Speak for yourself.
I find there is the occasional ray of sunshine.

The sitcom that is "This Tory government " is about the only funny thing on the box anymore

New episodes everyday

Everyone packed with hilarious crazy shenanigans

It's a hoot!

Empty planes.

Why is it everyone else can pass them on but when we try it we get condemned?

Germany, France, Turkey, Sweden etc etc take more than we do every year

Don't believe the crap that we take millions whilst nobody else will take any

Everyone else doesn't pass them on.
The vast majority stay in mainland Europe.

This should cheer you up. I'm buying a field in Mirfield with gypsies investors. The government will pay for them to put Ukrainians up in their homes - it's a killer investment, come on Steve you're a capitalist, think of the profit. We can roll the profits into buying another field. Mirfield is the new Rwanda, I'm telling you. I'm only charging £490K to transport 32 of them into the camp site. It gets Priti Patel out of a back log and saves her money. Everyone's a winner.

Mirfield already has a hotel commandeered for refugee's. (not Eukrainians, they look like Somalian lads to me)
I feel a little sorry for them. A strange land and no work or social life.
It would be nice if they were given jobs - not for cheap labour but for the welfare of their body and souls.

Veering dangerously close to Labour's policy there, Stephen.
We have the most draconian policy on this in the whole of Europe.
And as you say, a dreadful waste when there's a million job vacancies and, again, as you say, awful for the refugees state-of-mind.
I think the govt are looking at it, but they're dragging their heels.
I guess they're worried about feeding the ( entirely spurious ) "they're stealing our jobs" narrative.

?

I trust all the foregoing posts will be greyed out as off-topic.

Good point.
But that plane not taking off really did make me and millions of other genuinely happy, so that can stay.

Patel knew 100% this would never work

This government just plays silly games

With peoples lives

Israel tried the same stunt and it was a total failure

Absolutely pathetic

I think the balance of opinion is that this should be moved to "I read the News...." thread.
See you over there.
