The Good Life Page 2

Lol, what's the link between the three or are you just naming classic shows?

Yes Minister/Y,PM was the post-Good Life Paul Eddington vehicle. To The Manor Born was ditto for Penelope Keith. Ever Decreasing Circles for Richard Briers, and I can't for the life of me remember the Felicity Kendall one.

Didn't she go into soft porn, or was that just my 'magination..?

Try 'The Mistress' by Carla Yawn

You mean 'Solo'?

A title inspired by her striking out on her own, in more ways than one... oooh how poignant.

Richard Bries started doing Ever Decreasing Circles when both Yes Minister and To the Manor Born had finished. His first post-Good Life sitcoms were The Other One and All in Good Faith.

Oh right, thanks.

I like the one with them talking to the bean.

I've been pondering purchasing the Good Life on DVD but I don't know if it would still be up my alley. I used to like it as a kid.

I have all of The Good Life on DVD and it is one of the great British classics as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not normally a very observant person and I have seen all of the episodes many, many times but the other night I was watching the episode where Tom & Barbara were going to bed when they fealt tired instead of sticking to times when I noticed something I hadn't noticed before...

As Barabara leant over to get in to bed she flashed and you could see she wasn't wearing a bra!

Seems like the BBC editors also weren't that observant in those days...

;)

I notice that, like me, you're in Australia. I'd recommend you buy the Aussie DVDs rather than the UK ones because at least they keep the episodes in order. The UK boxset has three episodes 'removed' and put onto a separate disc as 'classic episodes' (Probably because this 'extra' disc was released first and they couldn't be bothered putting them back in their rightful place afterwards.)

I have to say that the show has not diminished in the past twenty years. It's still as wonderful as ever.

Like hell...

Doctor in the HOuse is little more than a sequence of upskirt shots.

Cool... I'll have to check it out then.

And I never really get how Felicity Kendal is supposed to be attractive ...

:O Dude, ye cain't beeze hetero-sexual. And there's nothing wrong with that. But ye cain't beeze---UNLESS: she looks similar to your ma.

She was to die for.

There was a moon that looked like Felicity Kendal's bum, we flew around that one a couple times.

This thing on now probably isn't the first or last celebration/doc of The Good Life but it's not bad viewing, focusing an awful lot on Margot but they are right to, always the real star of this great British sitcom. Quite attractive back then too.
