And everyone knew Bad News was better than Spinal Tap

Actually, the weird thing was that no-one seemed to know this; Spinal Tap, an amusing film, got all the plaudits, while Bad News, which was both hilarious and sometimes strangely moving, got ignored.

And had some awesome hits, well at my school we knew oh yes we did.

Unless you were a Spasmo Jenkins smelly bum.

That is a nice write up Sootyj. Totally agree with what you said.

Right on!

:( 'The kids are on the streets and they are revolting !'.... never forget him.

RIP Rik x

Apparently Stephen Fry really let Rik down with a stage play that he bottled out on and did a runner.

Rik apparently never forgave him. So much for Fry's insincere plaudits.

There's a lot of apparentlys in there!
I wouldn't have thought Rik would hold someone's mental breakdown against them, to be honest. (If we're talking about 'that' play where Fry disappeared.)

Apparently!

Heh.

Stephen Fry did leave Rik in the lurch but I'm sure Rik wouldn't have held it against him as he suffered a mental breakdown.

There's a bit in Bottom Live 2 where Ade makes light of the situation. Rik looks more embarrassed about it than anything.

He also did the voices on my favourite Playstation game
"The Hogs of War"
RIP Rik

Yes!

I loved that game. Rik's voice over work was incredible. He did so many accents and they added such humour to the game.

"Bourgeois pigs!"

enough of this shit here's some classic Rik

Where do you start looking for deep and meaningful in, er, that show...?

Who was looking for anything deap and meaningful?

There was a break in the act because Rik flubbed a line and Ade (Not Eddie) started taking the piss out of Rik (not Richie) saying that Stephen Fry abandoned him because he was mistake prone. They dropped out of character and Rik (not Richie) reacted with embarrassment.

If you saw it you'd know exactly what I meant.

I think I saw it Doc. Ade did a few times.

Loved the Comic Relief special in the 80s with The Young Ones.
