Yes I have "heard of Skype", but I just can't imagine a web-chat could replace the value of four-hour-long pub-sessions, afternoons of staring into space in one another's living room, and an actual unsimulated human relationship when it comes to building a working partnership. It'd be like working with Max Headroom (who, to be fair, has a few TV credits which might actually come in handy).
Funnily enough, just read about a skype collaboration that resulted in a sale, over on a US film screenwriting forum. Not a sitcom though:

On the plus side, you might get more written if you avoided 4 hour pub sessions. A journalist and I once tried to write a cartoon strip together, and that's all we ever did...
