Who was the teeny tiny oldish man who won an award? I think he had recorded something with Daft Punk? He was obviously very famous but I didn't know him.

No idea, it was a 'supergroup' type thing with Dave Grohl and Trent Rezor..if you scroll down you can watch the video.

Macklemore is a very talented guy...and rather attractive 
I think the little guy with daft punk is a producer, my son said his name but I've forgotten now.
All related to Dave Grohl's Sound City Real to Reel film/album I'd imagine. McCartney, Reznor and Homme were all part of that.
