Where Did They go?

Where did those poppy fizzy sweeties go that used to crackle on your tongue.

Where are black jacks, gobstoppers & sherbert dib dabs. I have a need for sherbert with that lickle lollipop on it.

Whats your fav sweetie from childhood?

You can still buy the stuff that crackles in your mouth but you now have to go to specialist shops to get it. Kids were sniffing it and crackles were occurring nasally [ not what the manufacturers intended ] . It had to be taken off the shelves for a while.

Count Dracula ice lollies were great. And I named them but thats a long story.

I dont remember those dracy lollies.

In my day kids were well hard & sniffed glue. Kids of today though eh.
*Runs upstairs to check her boys room for crackly stuff*

No I'm sure I'm right Charley. I'm sure I read somewhere that the kids of today were all getting into crack. So obviously they would have to take it off the shelves for a while wouldn't they. Thats responsible government for yer.

Does your girlfriend know?

I've never really been a sweetie person. I prefer crisps - and nuts!

www.aquarterof.co.uk has become world famous for tracking down and selling classic sweets from the 60s - 80s. Worth a look Charley.

I'll have a quarter of Rhubarb and Custard please mister.

It just exploits people who've not been down to a good newsagent in a while!

In the Trocadero in Lei cest shire Square theres a shop which sells candy. It made me sik just looking at it.

Can't quite remember my favourite sweets but can certainly remember the worst, those UFO things that melted into a mucas kind of liquid. Sick

SUPA BAZOOKA chewy with the amazing prison tattoo... loved those... I thought I was well ARD... long before Beckham's body art

i remember a long time ago when i used to ask for a quarter and 5 rhurbarb and custards please!

I really want some sweets now. I honestly can't think of anywhere that does them anymore? I think your right Charley!

Maybe Woolworths? My corner shop only sells chocolate bars, which isn't a bad thing, but a sweets section would be nice.

I both hated/loved cola bottles, I knew they were crap but still loved 'em.

ah nostalgia - not as good as it used to be ;)

Jelly tots!!

And the old version of Tootie Frooties. The new ones are fecking terrible. I think they've taken the E numbers out. The fools.
