I don't know of him sounding like that before or after?

TODAY IN MUSIC HISTORY
Whenever the f**k it was, Prefab Sprout release 'Cars and Girls', an attack on Bruce Springsteen. The Sprouts have every right to do this, for they will far outstrip Springsteen in commercial and critical acclaim, consistency of live performances, and not having a stupid f**king name in the first place. For f**k's sake Paddy, it's like John Merrick saying Cameron Diaz ain't sexy enough. F**k you, you cosmically arrogant, mind-f**kingly self-obsessed, hopelessly deluded little f**ker. Really. F**k you. No joke coming. Just f**k you.

Thanks for the history lesson. You would have made a great history teacher. :)

Oh well, I've got one Prefab album (Steve McQueen), and about 20 Springsteen ones, so I guess The Boss really is The Boss in my household. :)

Funnily enough I AM a teacher. I am total and utter f**king shit.
I've been listening to a worrying amount of McCartney lately.

I believe I am right in saying that whenever they played alongside each other their team never lost a game.

1 Steve McQueen
2 From Langley Park to Memphis
3 Jordan The Comeback
4 Swoon
5 The Gunman and Other Stories

Wendy was definitely the new Linda.

Let me get back to you on that. :)

In the meantime I strongly recommend you check this out. I think he'll be right up your street. I expect Mr. Radish is already familiar with him. :)

Phosphorescent | Watch A Concert A Day

They usually change the link to something else. I'll edit/update it if/when they do.

Actually that's one point that I agree with you on. I always thought Prefab Sprout were arrogant pretentious tossers.

I don't get this thing about an attack on Springsteen though.

It gets addressed in the comments.

Well, the three I listen to most these days are "Born To Run".
We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions: https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/bruce-springsteen/we-shall-overcome-the-seeger-sessions/ And The Promise: https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/bruce-springsteen/the-promise/ I dip into plenty of others as well, and if you're thinking of buying something PM me and I'll tell you what I think. Most are solid.

01 The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle
02 The Rising
03 Born To Run
04 Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.
05 Darkness on the Edge of Town
06 Tunnel of Love
07 We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions
08 The River
09 Born in the U.S.A.
10 Nebraska

.........there are nine other main studio albums.

(Most people wouldn't agree with my order but I think you will find that mine is the right one) :)

That's more helpful than my suggestions. As I said recently, I played most of my vinyl to death at the time, so I haven't listened to a lot of these in ages. I also think Springsteen's work is quite difficult to place in order, compared to some other artists.

I hope someone listens to that Phosphorescent gig - it's one of the best things I've heard this year.
