Phillip Glass - The Photographer

He's a great composer who I've only discovered in the last year. This particular album is a classical/opera/soundtrack type affair which is particularly haunting.

His soundtrack for "Mishima" is amazing, and definitely worth checking out.

Maybe we should start a soundtrack thread?

Ok, just found Lee H.'s one. Time to do a Sunshine.

The Clash - Pressure Drop

The Buzzcocks had the privilege of playing the King's Lynn Festival several years back. They were great. Not sure how many of the original members were in the band though.

Listening to Best of the Smiths - the one with Charles Hawtry on the cover.

Depends how recent. I think Steve Diggle and Pete Shelley were in recent line ups but I doubt if Howard Devoto was there. However I prefer the lineup wthout Devoto even though I love Magazine.

And it's not on mine: Singles Going Steady

Was it a single A-side?

Apparently it was on Spiral Scratch - their first release on New Hormones.

Singles Going Steady was their United Artists releases.

I'm willing to be corrected on this though.

Was it a single A-side?

No, it was the third song on the Spiral Scratch EP from 1977, according to wikipedia.

Edit: I see Chappers was faster...

This whole talk reminds me I don't have any Buzzcock albums. But I have every studio album by Magazine.

And I've got Spiral Scratch too. Not when it first came out though. I think it was a re-release.

On vinyl?

Yes - but as I say it was re-released at a later date.
