Pleased

According to this poll (which is now clearly rigged), about 80% of Britons appear to watch just two TV shows.

No, it's not rigged. A rigged poll has its outcome defined before it opens. And as much as you may like the other programmes, Top Gear hasn't got that high a % of the vote just because its hardcore fans are eager to vote.

My dictionary defines 'rig' as "to manipulate in a fraudulent manner"; since the the poll is one man one vote, and the Top Gear fans are voting repeatedly, I would call that rigged.

and the Top Gear fans are voting repeatedly

Are they?

If you follow the link Ian provided, it would seem so.

I bet Top Gear fans do a lot of things repeatedly.

(Masturbating, if that wasn't obvious)

I joke, I like T.G.

I didn't read the whole of the thread, but it didn't seem that way from what I did see.

Anyway. I disagree strongly with your definition of 'rigged'.

But if people are voting more than once, it's safe to assume that fans of other shows will be doing so too.

Not necessarily so Aaron.

Some people actually play the game with a straight bat whereas people who are fans of Top Gear are tossers.

:)

Oooh !

That was post 300 !

:P

Last time I watched Top Gear, they killed the Stig. What happened there? Did they just replace him?

As Oldrocker suggests Top Gear attracts a 'special' type of fan...
