Some websites won't allow you to hotlink (I believe that is the correct term). Because when you post a photo on this forum for example, it is still being hosted on the website where you found it. It uses up their precious bandwidth, so some sites block it and make the image only available on their website.
But if I save the pic to my computer, I can't find a way to show them on here- am I being really dense or do I need a certain type of programme?
You need to upload it to a picture hosting website.
http://tinypic.com/ doesn't require you to sign up. But if you do, you can save all your photos.
