Yes, single older-man, confirmed bachelor - that must mean I am gay too!

Ha!

Ah, but you aren't a character written by somebody in the 50s or 60s. Are you?

Alan C , I didnt say you were thick , I was using the term ''you '' in a general sense , re the people watching the performance at the time , I wiill just call you a touchy paranoid c---t , ok?? xx

It is so depressing that Mr Humphreys or, God forbid , Dick Emery's Honky Tonk, are always the first names to appear when people talk about gay characters in sitcoms.
Julian and Sandy might have been clever and very funny, but they were well before my time. For me, the first credible gay character was Jodie Dallas in'Soap', even if they did eventually pair him off with a woman. And before anybody shouts 'but that was American' at me, you might as well know, I don't care. :D

But that was Amer...

Oh.

How old are you Mister G? :)

Even I remember that. I think. Vaguely.

According to Wikipedia 'Round The Horn' ended in 1968. A bit before my time. Have you been time traveling again zooo?

Oh.

I'm thinking of a toooooooooooooooooootally different Julian!

Oops.

I'm 45, but you shouldn't ask a gentleman his age, you know! :P

You're thinking of Terry and Julian probably.

Still, it's an easy mistake to make when you don't think, isn't it. :P

Aha! Old enough to remember Terry and Julian then.
Which is actually what I thought you were talking about... :$

Bloody fast typists...

I do remember T&J. In fact, I saw Julian Clary on his Sticky Moments Tour back in the late 80s. I was just about the only one there without a moustache. Which, when you consider a large part of the audience were women, is really saying something1 :D

Haha!

Did he have his doggy with him on that tour?
