Comedians on Mastermind Page 2

The celebrity version has much easier questions.

It's funny how Clive says 'yes' when they get an answer correct. It's the way he says it like the answer was a bit saucy and he's saying "Hmmm, yes. Chance would be a fine thing".

The bloody Fast Show??

I've not watched Mastermind since I was a kid but then it was always quantum physics, the art of renaissance Europe, the Russian revolution or the life and times of Michelangelo Caravaggio

The Fast Show????!

F**ks sake

It's always been a mixture of subjects on the specialist subject round.

Answering the question before last...

Celebrity this, celebrity that - enough already!

No, we need Celebrity Gladiators. Imagine the fun of seeing your fave politicians bludgeoned off a 20 foot podium with a pugil stick.

In the end someone is going to get done by the Trading Standards for using the word celebrity they have to surely. I'm not a fan of panel shows or reality TV at the best of times as people peddling made up anecdotes or eating grub worms, bores the arse off me.

57 channels and nothin' on

Jessica Knappett was on last night's Celebrity Mastermind, and her specialist subject was The Fast Show - worth watching for any fans of her and/or TFS.
I got about 4 of them right.

Ooh, I loved her in 'Drifters' - I'll see whether it's still on iPlayer (I must get my full value from my Licence Fee). In my opinion, comedians always tend to do well in quizzes. Mind you, I stopped watching the celebrity version of Mastermind as the questions seemed very dumbed down in comparison to the regular one. I used to work in the same government department as a Mastermind champion and I even got him to sign my son's autograph book and yes, before you ask, both me and MasterLogic are firmly on the spectrum. We don't care, we simply rock it.

Wibble wibble hatstand.

Last Saturday, on the Weakest Link, someone I'd never heard of (which covers most people on "celebrity" editions) - I think, looking back at the list of competitors on the BBC website, it was Donna Preston (no me neither) - was asked how many days were in a leap year.

She opted for 4,000.

The 'celebrities should bring a utility bill to these shows.

Wowzers! That's pure stupidly for you. Nope, I haven't heard of Donna Preston either - maybe she's related to the evil dog in one of the Wallace and Gromit films?

On the subject of peculiar quiz show answers, there was an episode of Tipping Point once where the question was "who was the Labour deputy leader who wrote a book called how I lost weight and reversed my diabetes". The contestant answered "Agatha Christie".

The correct answer as Tom Watson - fair enough if people don't know that, but it's probably best to at least guess a f**ken politician, or even just say "I don't know"!

"Name a long-necked bird"

"Naomi Campbell.."
