Hello all,
Trying to remember the title of an 80s sitcom.
There were 2 main characters - a man and a woman.
The man likes the woman, but his feelings aren't reciprocated until the final episode. During that episode, the man meets another woman and I think the series ends on this note.
I thought it may have been Three Up, Two Down with Michael Elphick, but no.

Can you remember anything else about it?
Watching, Miss Jones And Son and Just Good Friends all include certain elements of that which you describe, but I don't think any are quite spot-on matches for your memory... Might be worth checking if you haven't already though.
Anything else you can recall? Appearance of anyone in the show?

It's a good thought, but there's no love interest plot in Dear John.... - it's wholly based on the exact opposite, in fact!
During the final episode, I think woman is out of town. When away, she realizes that she loves the guy and returns only to find him with this new woman.
I think she is visiting a friend who makes her realize that she likes the guy and then she travels back by train to tell him. When she reaches his flat, he introduces her to the other woman.
The characters were in their late 30s/early 40s.
