Simon Simon was produced by Shillingford in an attempt to break away from its established business of making advertisements and move into feature films.
The two hydraulic platforms used in the film were made and lent to the production by Nottinghamshire engineering company Simon, who asked for no financial recompense, only that they would be able to use the finished short as promotional material for their product.
