Billy Fury is not just a music star, but an animal lover - and he's added to his beloved collection of four-legged friends with the purchase of his first horse, Armitage, whom he intends to train to be a champion racer.

Unfortunately, this latest equine obsession comes quickly into conflict with rehearsals for the big Great Yarmouth summer season show he's currently working on, much to his manager's, Hymie, consternation!

It's especially unfortunate timing for Hymie, as theatre boss Mr Bartholomew is irascible even when things are going well, and the show is currently stubbornly refusing to come together to his satisfaction. A combination of music and dance numbers, it's got to open soon.

Things go from mild havoc to disaster when Armitage catches pneumonia in a sudden rainstorm, but Hymie's assistant Jo has her eye firmly set on Billy and hopes to be just the right ingredient to cheer him up and ensure the show goes ahead.
