The Rob Brydon Show sees Rob take the audience into his world sharing his experiences as 'a dad, husband and a famous face'. And while viewers may think it's all glamour, he's just like every other befuddled man, unable to deal with the plumbing or panicked at the thought of school sports day.

Featuring a mix of stand-up from Rob and from a guest comedian each week (hand-picked by Rob), the show also plays host to top musical guests. Rob takes the chance to sing alongside the stars, showcasing his skills as a 'No.1-selling music artist' as well as offering some performance tips.

In the new series, Rob will meets some of his favourite comedians, including Dame Edna Everage, Matt Lucas and Bill Bailey. Rob will also interview Sir Bruce Forsyth.

Rob will also perform with some of his musical heroes, including the reformed Faces, featuring legendary guitarist Ronnie Wood, and Mick Hucknall. And, as before, each show features an up-and-coming stand-up act too.

Our Review: A nice, light-hearted chat show - but sadly much of a muchness with umpteen other more established programmes in a similar vein. The series relied heavily on the natural charm of host Rob Brydon, and whilst it was just about enough to hold a short run of half hours, there just wasn't enough in The Rob Brydon Show to distinguish or highlight it against anything else. We'll tune into the new series, but can't help feeling that the BBC are taking the boring, safe option in recommissioning the same format for another run.
