The title for the series comes from The Sex Pistols album Never Mind the Bollocks and the punk rock band "Buzzcocks".

There is an episode of Never Mind the Buzzcocks sitting in the BBC archives that has never been broadcast. It was pulled from the schedules just before broadcast because it featured Russell Brand as a guest team captain in the same week that the 'Sachsgate' scandal broke in the tabloid newspapers.

Although the furore around Brand has now disappeared, the episode has still yet to be broadcast... this is mainly because it would now look odd broadcasting the episode as Simon Amstell was the host of that episode.
