Jimmy Savile on HIGNFY - was this a HOAX? Page 7

Chris Langham is a great comic actor with some personal problems that hurt nobody (no he didn't pay for the images he viewed).

In a better fairer society help would have been available to him outside of the criminal justice system.

As for Jimmy Savile, he had massive influence that kept him safe? OFO so did Gary Glitter and Jonathan King. No one had the balls to make a case stick whilst he was warm.

The paranoia around child abuse, is the abusers' best friend.

The difference between Savile and Glitter (apart from the fact that Savile has never been found guilty of anything, of course) is that Savile used his public profile for conspicuous charitable ends. To destroy him would be to harm the charity. So, regardless of his guilt or innocence, now there's the question of how many celebrities out there use charity work as a shield for their dodgy lifestyle.

Langham's interest in child porn would not have come to light if he had not been charged with buggering a fourteen year old girl. Langham, who is married, admitted to being in a sexual relationship with the girl, but denied she was underage when the relationship began. He was found innocent by the jury on those counts, and I have no problem with him getting on with his life, but I think I will reserve my sympathy.

Let's not forget Woody Allen who married his own adopted daughter, that's pretty high in the weirdo stakes.

He was nabbed as part of Operation Ore. That was a credit card job. He did pay.

I believe it was his then girlfriend's adopted daughter. Rather than his own.
Anyway, they're still happily together after 15 years!

Woody and the woman is oddly sweet.

Chris Langham! At least this prick is still alive and ready to be judged again, which he will be, and let's hope he's still not in the comedy business.

Christopher "Chris" Langham (born 14 April 1949) is an English writer, actor and comedian. He is most famous for playing MP Hugh Abbot in BBC Four sitcom The Thick of It and as presenter Roy Mallard in People Like Us, first on BBC Radio 4 and later on its transfer to television on BBC Two, where Mallard is almost entirely an unseen character. He subsequently created several spoof adverts in the same vein. He also played similar unseen interviewers in an episode of the television series Happy Families and in the film The Big Tease. He is also known for his roles in the TV series Not the Nine O'Clock News, Help, Kiss Me Kate and as the gatehouse guard in Chelmsford 123. In 2006, he won BAFTA awards for The Thick of It and Help.

On 2 August 2007 Langham was found guilty of downloading indecent images of children from the Internet, and not guilty of six counts of indecent assault. He was sentenced to ten months in prison on 14 September 2007. On 14 November 2007, he won an appeal against the length of his sentence and was released after serving three and a half months...

3 months? I would have cut the mother f**ker's balls off!

Just like to say welcome back Chris Langham, who was convicted of having just 5 illegal pieces of pornography on his computer and of whom the judge said; "Paedophilia is not an issue in this case. You are not a sexual predator."

the judge in the case called it grossly innappropriate.

Some judges say people who break into your house to steal your stuff are brave. *shrug*

I guess one judge's grossly inappropriate is another judge's happily married.

Ha! Yep.

I do of course acknowledge that it is a bloody bizarre way to meet the love of your life. But, what can you do.

Mind you what I really can't forgive him for is the bloody awful films he's made since Zelig

Not a lot you can say to that really.

Operation Ore wasn't just credit cards.

Actually it included people whose cards were cloned.

So in theory you could be pure as the driven snow and get done in by Operation Ore 2.

Bears thinking about.
