I have to agree with Alan. I work full time as a writer and I've been covertly trawling this forum looking for potential sketch writers for a new show that's been commissioned by the BBC. I'm afraid that so far I haven't read anything that's been close to the required standard. I hope you all keep writing and don't let this put you off, but if any of you do want to make the step up, you need to study sketches that do work and try to apply the same disciplines to your own work. Even if you're only writing for fun, I think you'll have more fun if you can put something out that has been properly constructed and that's genuinely worthy of some praise. Sketch writing isn't as hard as some people think and there is always a demand for new writers. Good luck and keep at it.

I don't think anyone has a really problem with his critique, it's the way their delivered.
