A bit Alan Partridge, but the theme from Black Beauty would make a great national anthem.

What about Jet by Wings?

I never fail to be moved by a passionate singing of Jerusalem though.

Gay. Pleased

Yes. Or Live and Let Die.

Back of the net. erm...etc.

Living on a Prayer always gets people joining in.

Could have the Dad's Army theme. I'd stand for that.

Always been a bit jealous of South Africa's anthem so came up with this last night http://audioboo.fm/boos/144762-africanthem-for-england

The American national anthem is much better.

Incorrect!

Isn't God Save the Queen the anthem of Great Britain not England?

The United Kingdom, actually. IIRC.

I guess if there was a poll "Land of Hope and Glory" would win.

Jerusalem, I think.

Damn it, how did I not notice that he posted that a full 13 minutes ahead of me?

Jerusalem gets my vote but anything is better than God Save the Queen, not only the worst tune ever but the tedious crowd renditions smack of an archaic Alf Garnett types doffing their caps to their 'betters.'

The singing of Rule Britannia is equally as absurd. Apart from being written by a Scot there is not football team called Britain anyway. Still we can always hum the Great Escape, an American tune.
