Sitcom characters you never see Page 10

How about that guy from The Fast Show who says "you ain't seen me, right?" and taps his nose, because technically speaking we haven't seen him... right!!!

Just finished the first two series of Hi-de-Hi and, so far, Mr. Maplin has not appeared. Perhaps he remains the mystery behind the rude and ungrammatical notes to the entertainment staff?

It Takes A Worried Man had an extensive cast of characters you never got to see: the analyst's boyfriend, Napley's deliquent son, and the boss's Mohican son-in-law spring to mind. ITAWM was a show that very much specialised in breaking the show-don't-tell rule.

THE GLUMS. You never see Mrs Glum. (Well you wouldn't as it's a radio show! :$)
But a little more seriously - you don't hear her speak properly either - you just hear a muffled sound - but there is a lot of references to her. "MOTHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!!!!!" "OMHOMOBOMOHMM" The Glums must have been one of the funniest things on radio.

Yup, I know I'm years to late probably, but I've only just joined yer see......

Mrs Glum was 'played' by????????????

Alma Cogan - the singer on the show.

Not a lot a people know that....... :)

YES! A very funny show - I still quote Ron's favourite ice-cream Neolopitan. Ahh, gets me evertime. Laughing out loud

Howard's mother in The Big Bang Theory is often heard off camera but never seen.

Damn! I was going through all the posts convinced no one mentioned her!

Mrs Wolowitz, and I love it when Bernadette impersonates her.
Laughing out loud

Thank you Oldrocker.

Anyone who has an avatar of the great Max Miller is a dear friend of mine!
Rolling eyes

Still listen to his routines, never tire of them.
"There'll never be another lady"

How true, how true. Years ahead of the game. How I would have loved to have seen him in his prime. When I listen to his Mary from the Dairy music intro. on my recordings, the hair stands up on the back of my neck. You just know you are going to be in for a riotous time!

God bless you Max.. <3

That's going to be stuck in my head all day now!

Gotta be better than some "music" I can think of!

Lt Gruber had a driver for "his little tank" which we never see called Clarence in 'Allo 'Allo!.

June, Tucker's ever-present but never-seen wife from Citizen Smith.

Joan from OFAH.
Steve D'Amato, Carly's dad in The Inbetweeners.
Neil's mum in The Inbetweeners?

Reggie Perrin's hippo...er...mother-in-law?

Mrs. Miggins gets mentioned in "Blackadder II" but you never see her...she appears in "Blackadder The Third", but that's another century and therefore a totally different character (well, sort of...)

Richie's aunty in "Bottom" who seems to own the flat. And I'd terribly like to see Richie's sister that looks exactly like him...only with smaller jugs, as he says. Maybe we get to see her in the new Bottom/Hooligan's Island series. ;)

Mrs Miggins in Blackadder II.
