A huge hit at the time that has remained one of the most hotly-demanded DVD releases, a complete box set of all four series of the comedy - minus, sadly, a few music performances - is released on Monday 19th November 2018 by Network Distributing.
Written by Barry Cryer and Ray Cameron (father of Michael McIntyre), the 35 episodes - broadcast between 1978 and 1981 - are packed with a variety of iconic characters, many of which transferred to the BBC and an equally highly successful run of series through the rest of the 1980s.
This original incarnation, from ITV London broadcaster Thames Television, is famed for the lack of a studio audience, but the sound of often riotous laughter from the camera and production crew, in hysterics at Kenny's latest outrageous antics.
Music performances retained in the set include the likes of David Bowie, Bonnie Tyler, Darts, Suzie Quatro, The Police, The Boomtown Rats, Thin Lizzy, David Essex, The Moody Blues, Elkie Brooks and others.
From Marcel Wave to Prince Charles; the Reverend Love to Sid Snot, this is a 6-disc collection no self-respecting comedy fan should be without.
